I’m a freelance Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer film and video editor.
I’ve been editing videos since I was 19 years old. In 2001, I started D&BTV on Drum & Bass Arena. From 2002 to 2010 I worked as a commercial editor in London, cutting ads and promos for some of the biggest brands in the world. I also edited many independent short films which have screened in festivals worldwide, plus music videos for several major artists.
I am currently based in Wellington, New Zealand focussing on feature films and short narrative drama. For booking enquiries, please contact me via my website.
I’ve worked in many areas of post-production. (Broadly speaking “post” is the third phase of making a film, after pre-production and production itself.)
Originally this phase was mainly about film editing, but digital technology has brought more esoteric skills into the hands of amateurs and professionals alike, and post-production now encompasses a vast spectrum of related specialties relating to colour, visual effects, graphics and sound.
I’ve learnt so much and considered so often the various aspects of my chosen field, that I thought I’d like to share some of my thoughts with a wider audience.
I hope you will find them useful, insightful or simply entertaining.
Thanks,
Nick
